Conference details

The 2026 conference will explore Towards Solutions: Pressing Issues in Charity Law and will be held over 1.5 days, commencing after lunch on Thursday 23 July with a dinner following the AGM that evening, and continuing to Friday 24 July for a full day.

A big thank you to Gilbert + Tobin for hosting us at their Barangaroo offices. Proceedings will be live-streamed for those around Australia and in New Zealand.

We're delighted that Darren Fittler from Gilbert + Tobin will deliver a keynote focussing on a number of pressing issues in charity law. There will also be panels discussing pressing legal and regulatory issues facing charities and their advisors, including compliance, AI, taxation, gifts and bequests, mergers and restructures.

Conference dinner

Please join us at a conference dinner on the evening of Thursday 23 July at Meat & Wine Co, conveniently located a minute's walk from the conference venue. Despite the name, vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be catered for.

Dinner tickets can be purchased through the conference registration portal at cost price.

Membership renewal

For most current CLAANZ members, annual renewal is at the time of conference registration - thank you in advance for continuing to support us by renewing your membership via the portal. If you’re not sure about your current membership status, please email admin@claanz.org.au for an update.

CPD

Claiming CPD for practitioners in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland: CPD is self-assessed – practitioners determine whether they can claim units for a particular activity based on their own circumstances.

If the conference sessions are relevant to your immediate or long term needs in relation to your professional development and practice of the law, then you may be able to claim one CPD unit for each hour of attendance, refreshment breaks not included. CPD limits may apply to recorded sessions.

For practitioners in WA, CLAANZ is not presently a WA accredited QA provider, so CPD points cannot be claimed at this stage.
